English giant Chelsea are ready to clean up their warehouse for the 2022 summer transfer window. The Blues want to get big funds to look for new players according to Thomas Tuchel’s wishes.
Chelsea will reportedly release seven players in the transfer market at the start of the 2022/2022 season.
Chelsea was in a difficult situation. Roman Abramovich’s assets in the UK were frozen by the government. This is related to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
Because of that case, Chelsea was hit by uncertainty. They can’t offer new contracts and buy players. However, the situation has changed following the arrival of the new owner, Todd Boehly.
Even though they already have a new owner, that doesn’t mean the Blues can be free in the transfer market. Quoted from The Mirror , there are seven players who will be released to get fresh funds. Anyone?
Two Free Defenders
Currently, Chelsea has lost two players who play central defender. The Blues had to let Antonio Rudiger move to Real Madrid and Andreas Christensen who has a deal with Barcelona.
The two players moved on a free transfer, aka free. Chelsea, from a financial point of view, are certainly not in good shape in the transfer of the two players.
Rudiger’s Substitute
Tuchel is targeting two players to replace Rudiger and Christensen. The two names are Jules Kunde from Sevilla and Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig. They performed well in the last 2021/2022 season.
But, to get the services of Kounde and Gvardiol, Chelsea need big funds. Boehly did not immediately disburse large funds. So, Chelsea had to release players in order to get fresh funds and finance the transfer of the two centre-backs.
Exodus
Quoted from the Mirror, there are at least seven players who are on Chelsea’s selling list. Of the seven players, Thomas Tuchel’s concoction team could at least get funds of up to 170 million pounds.
Kepa Arrizabalaga is a player who is definitely on the selling list. Because, he lost to compete with Edouard Mendy for the role of the main goalkeeper.
Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso will also be released. Both are interested in Barcelona. Then, there are Jorginho and Ross Barkley who can also be sold to other clubs. Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku are also on the Chelsea list for next season.
