J-Hope BTS is the headliner for the 2022 Lollapalooza music festival. Taking place at Chicago’s Grant Park on 28-31 July 2022, J-Hope will close the festival on Sunday (31/7/2022) and become the first South Korean artist to perform on the main stage at a major US music festival. Besides J-Hope, Lollapalooza also announced that Tomorrow x Together (TXT) has been added to the lineup. The group will perform on Saturday (30/7/2022) and mark their US festival debut. “I’m excited to welcome J-Hope and Tomorrow x Together to the Lollapalooza family. These artists have been given a great gift in communication,” said Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell.
“Their global audience speaks a different language but has a strong passion for their music. Lolla is a place where all genres of music live in harmony. These are the superstars of the global K-Pop phenomenon, and we’re really excited for them at this year’s festival.”

J-Hope will join co-headliners Metallica, Dua Lipa, J. Cole and Green Day, as well as Kygo, Big Sean, Jazmine Sullivan, Don Toliver, Charli XCX, Idles, Turnstile and many more.
The addition of J-Hope and TXT because Doja Cat has canceled several of her summer festival shows, including Lollapalooza and due to a problem with her throat.
The singer posted a tweet on May 20, 2022 explaining his absence and confirming that he will be undergoing tonsillectomy. Therefore, he needed time to recover.
Last year, Lollapalooza also took place at Grant Park, making it one of the first major festivals to return after the Covid-19 pandemic.
