Juan Gómez-Jurado is the author of Reina Roja , the first novel in a trilogy that is completed by Loba Negra and Rey Blanco. Such has been its success in Spain that Amazon Prime Video has decided to adapt it as a television series.
The fiction will be released sometime in 2023 and will begin filming very soon with Juan Gómez-Jurado himself as creator together with Amaya Muruzábal ( Hernán ) and Salvador Perpiñá as screenwriters. Dopamine and Focus are in charge of producing Reina Roja together with Muruzábal, who will also be executive producer. The directors of the same have not yet been announced.
The series will focus mainly on the first book of the trilogy and will be released in the 240 countries in which Amazon Prime Video is operational, thus being able to enjoy the story of Antonia Scott and Jon Gutiérrez worldwide.

When the daughter of the richest man in Spain is kidnapped and the son of a powerful tycoon is found grotesquely murdered in his mansion, the Red Queen organization is launched. Here comes Jon Gutiérrez, a temperamental Basque policeman who is sent to reactivate Antonia.
The twisted game of cat and mouse in which Antonia and Jon find themselves involved during their investigation also helps them discover that they admire and complement each other almost as much as they annoy each other.
Vicky Luengo ( Anti- riot ) and Hovik Keuchkerian ( Money Heist ) have been chosen to give life to Antonia Scott and Jon Gutiérrez, respectively. “Sancho Panza had an update pending,” Keuchkerian explained at a recent Prime Video press conference.
RELEASE DATE OF ‘RED QUEEN’
The premiere date for Reina Roja has not yet been finalized, but we do know that it will be sometime in 2023.

It’s no wonder that Amazon Prime Video took notice of the Red Queen trilogy. In November 2021, the novel reached 155 weeks in a row on the best-seller lists and has been the best-selling book in Spain in 2019 and 2020, managing to exceed two million copies sold.
But he has achieved one milestone after another. As the absolute record for reader reviews on Amazon, 160 editions of the novels or Antonia Scott being the first Spanish literary character to have her own emoji on Twitter. Undoubtedly, the expectation for the series is currently very high.
