According To The Recording Industry Association Of Japan (RIAJ) New System, Songs Are Certified Silver After Reaching 30 Million Streams, Gold At 50 Million Streams, And Platinum At 100 Million Streams.
Recently the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) has announced its newest official certification. In 2020, the RIAJ implemented a new certification system for streaming songs online, in addition to the existing certification system for physical album submissions and digital download sales. According to the new system, songs are certified silver after reaching 30 million streams, gold at 50 million streams, and platinum at 100 million streams.
In the newly announced RIAJ certification pool (dated May 2022), Twice , Bangtan Boys and BLACK PINK all received new official certifications for streaming. Twice’s hit single “The Feels” is officially certified platinum after topping 100 million streams since its release in October, making it the fastest song by any female foreign artist to receive an RIAJ platinum certification for streaming.
With this latest achievement, TWICE has also become the girl group with the most RIAJ platinum certifications for streaming: “The Feels” is now their fourth song to go platinum after “Feel Special”, “I CAN’T STOP ME” and “Fancy”. Meanwhile, both BTS’ 2017 Japanese song “Crystal Snow” and BLACKPINK’s 2016 debut song “BOOMBAYAH” received official gold certifications after surpassing 50 million streams each.
” TWICE and BTS, owners of Japan, the second largest music market in the world. Kings and queens. Congrats to the big 3,” commented netter. ” It’s really cool when the age of the group is “old” but they still exist in the midst of so many gen4s, it’s really cool, twais bepe and bities, congratulations to the three groups,” said another. ” Twice even though subscriptions are called flops or haters, the evidence is stable, even though they often make successful comebacks, dear,” concluded another.
Meanwhile, BTS has just made a comeback with the anthology album “Proof” which this week managed to stay in the top 4 of the Billboard 200 for 2 consecutive weeks. Meanwhile, Twice has just finished their world concert tour and BLACKPINK is rumored to be making a comeback with a new album in the near future.
